He even took a hot air balloon ride the morning of report day to ring in the big day. Then all the fanfare fell like a lead balloon when he landed on the non-football injury list to begin camp.Yeah, he pass his physical and suited up on day two of camp, but he didn’t see the field much. He ran some routes prior to warm-ups and left the field. Then on day three — the first day in pads — he was back to the sideline, making his active designation not worth much.Come day four, he was in uniform, with pads, taking the field with his teammates. This time, he made it through warm-ups and participated in one-on-one drills afterward. It was like he never left.Just like OTA’s and minicamp, Brown torched nearly every DB he faced. First it was rookie second round pick Trayvon Mullen who was abused. Then it was starting cornerback Gareon Conley who couldn’t stop Brown from getting his. Both were bombs for long touchdowns. The only DB who was able to make a play on him was Lamarcus Joyner. The nickel corner was able to get hands on Brown up the right sideline and disrupt the pass his way to break it up. He celebrated with flexes and trash talking. Brown trotted back toward him and the two slapped hands with respect for each others’ game. Those who Brown beats respect him just the same. Getting burnt isn’t fun, but those experiences get you an education.“Yeah, of course it’s going to make me better,” said Conley. “I mean, he was brought here because he is a great receiver. Every time I get a chance to go I’m going to try to go against him and always ask him questions about when he breaks, what he’s doing at the line, down the field, how he plays against (cornerbacks). It’s going to make me better.”Mullen is quite familiar with Brown. The two spoke quite a bit while Mullen was at Clemson and even trained together. Facing one of the best in the NFL no doubt helped get Mullen to this point and he hopes he will continue to benefit from facing him in practice.“Well for me Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , quite frankly, he’s getting me better. Like I said I’m going against the best and each rep I know he’s going to bring his best. So it’s going to do nothing but get me better. . . He always said like, told me mentally you got to be focused. You got to come in with a good mindset and just win the day.”Mullen didn’t win this day. And, let’s be honest, he probably won’t win many days against Brown. But it’s good to have goals.Brown’s days of camp practice should only get longer from here on out. Up to this point he’s spent more time playing football on the side with his kids than he’s spent on the field with his teammates. That should change in the coming days.“He’s getting close and hopefully after the day off tomorrow he will get closer,” said Gruden. “but we need him on the grass. We need him to get going and he’s chomping at the bit. He’s not a real patient guy and hopefully it’ll be sooner than later.”We’d all like to see that.Catch of the dayI think I’m going to have to start calling this section the non-AB catch of the day. Because whenever he’s on the field, this section will pretty much belong to him. Both his aforementioned touchdown bombs were things of beauty. He also had a ridiculous catch before that with no defenders that he tracked over his shoulder and caught like it was routine.Defensive play of the dayThat Joyner pass breakup for AB probably takes this honor. Other pass breakups came from Gareon Conley on a pass from Nathan Peterman for Marcell Ateman and Te’Von Coney who stayed with tight end Luke Willson to break up a pass in the flat.Football program assistancePlayers from five Bay Area schools were on hand to accept a check for $25K from the Raiders and Dick’s Sporting Goods as part of the Dick’s Sports Matter Program. The schools were Oakland High, Skyline High, Madison Park Academy, Castlemont, and Monte Vista. Each school receives $5,000 for their football program.TransactionsRonald Ollie was injured on day two of camp. Now he’s cut. The Last Chance U star was replaced by veteran Ethan Westbrooks. Gruden explained his reasoning behind the move. Also out was Erik Swoope who hadn’t distinguished himself in a group of tight ends. That leaves the roster with an open spot.InjuriesNFI: Keith Smith (knee), PUP: Denzelle Good (back). Quinton Bell is still out. Gruden said his injury wasn’t as bad as they feared and he should be back by next week. Trayvon Mullen returned after missing a day with a wrist issue. Gabe Wright left practice with an injury of unknown severity. Marquel Lee went down injured in practice and came up clutching his left hamstring. We’ll see if he’s back full after the day off.Follow @LeviDamien The last game of the 2018 season for the Oakland Raiders comes via Kansas City with them playing the role of spoiler against the Chiefs attempt to be the AFC West champion and secure the top seed in the AFC. Oakland started out winning the coin toss and electing to kick off to KC to begin the game. They had their chances to stop the Chiefs but they dropped an interception and had another Arden Key just barely missed sack in the first 3 plays on defense. They then gave up a 67 yard TD to Tyreek Hill on the next 3rd down play. The 6 play, 84 yard drive made the score 7-0 quickly in the Chiefs favor.Derek Carr had the offense moving a bit until Doug Martin got stuffed for a loss on 2nd and 2, just straight up dropping the ball in the process. The Chiefs recovered at the Raiders 45, but the Oakland defense was able to force a punt anyway. That was exciting until Derek Carr’s interception streak ended with a bizarre pass to an oblivious Jared Cook that was picked off and returned for a touchdown by Safety Daniel Sorensen. The pick 6 made the score 14-0 Chiefs.Midfield seems to be kryptonite for the Oakland offense because as soon as they get near it or pass it, they turn the ball over. The third one happened on the Raiders next drive when Derek Carr was stripper sack for the 7th(!!) time this season. This one was from Justin Houston and the Chiefs recovered at their own 40 yard line. Again, the Raiders had a chance for a turnover of their own only to have Tahir Whitehead drop the interception that was right in his hands. Same results afterwards too Antonio Brown Jersey White , because the Chiefs went right down the field and scored another touchdown. This one was on the ground instead of through the air though, Damien Williams punched it in on a 4 yard TD run to make the score 21-0.After starting out the game with 3 turnovers on their first 4 drives, you’d assume they were done with that. Right? Wrong. Derek Carr threw another interception after passing midfield, and this one was almost another pick 6. Chiefs linebacker returned it all the way to the 2 but was stopped on a true touchdown saving tackle by a hustling Kolton Miller. I say true touchdown saving tackle because the Chiefs went for it on 4th down and the Raiders defense stuffed them to keep points off the board after the 4th turnover of the 1st half for Oakland. The craziest part of this first half is that Oakland has been moving the ball well except for those pesky turnovers. That continued moving the ball in this drive, despite starting at their own 2. This time they even got points when Daniel Carlson kicked the 50 yard field goal through to get the Raiders on the board 21-3. That’s what the halftime score with Gareon Conley coming up with an interception at the Raiders 2 yard line to keep the Chiefs from adding to their lead in the final minute of the half on another deep ball to Tyreek Hill. After deferring the opening kickoff, the Raiders got to start the 2nd half with the ball first. They got as far as the KC 36 but a huge penalty on the next play called back a 26 yard Jordy Nelson run down to the KC 10 and doomed the drive. Johnny Townsend did have a perfect punt that Dwayne Harris downed at the 1 yard line. No problem for Patrick Mahomes though, he got a first down to get out of danger and then threw a 89 yard TD to Demarcus Robinson to make it 28-3 KC. It was Mahomes 50th TD pass on the season too, doing so with his longest TD yet of his short career.Oakland punted on their next drive and then it was all Chiefs after that. With the big lead already it was about taking their time with it on their way to yet another TD. This one came from Tyreek Hill on the ground and made the score 35-3, capping off an impressive drive covering 92 yards in 10 plays that used 5:35 of clock. Any hope of saving pride with a decent finish to the season was already long gone and now we turned the corner into embarrassing loss status for Oakland now.Things didn’t go any better for the Raiders offense the next go round, they punted again. Patrick Mahomes stayed on the sidelines as his day was done with the blowout victory. Chad Henne came in and didn’t miss a beat for the Chiefs though. To be fair, this drive was more about the running game and keeping the clock going though. They accomplished that extremely well, taking up 8:52 of clock in 13 plays. The drive ended with a turnover on downs but the points didn’t matter anymore, only getting the game over quickly mattered. The Raiders got the ball back with 1:12 left in the game, and just ran the rest of the clock out themselves. Game ends 35-3, ending the awful 2018 season on a low note.
