Both Cash, who had no previous managerial experience when he was hired, and management said it was an easy decision to continue their relationship after a bounce-back season.“Kevin has a long list of positives. … It’s been a joy to see him blossom,” general manager Erik Neander said Tuesday. “He’s very deserving of this extension. You hear in baseball about trending down and all that kind of stuff. As far as a complete pitcher and just knowing what you’re doing and executing pitches, he’s pretty good.”Sanchez is 5-9 with a 4.76 ERA and 1.481 WHIP in 19 career starts against the Phillies. His appearance against the Phillies on Sunday was his only start against Philadelphia this season.
