There are now 160 days remaining until the next Orioles Antworten

The Dodgers are on the cusp of advancing Nolan Ryan Jersey , and so, unfortunately for us, are the Red Sox after a Jeffrey Maier-type play went the wrong way. Today: The slow GM search and, well, that’s all."Hello, friends.game. One lone baseball game remains to entertain us this evening, as the Astros and Red Sox play Game 5 of their ALCS. The NL has the night off after the Dodgers grabbed a 3-2 edge in their NLCS against the Brewers. What could be a final sixth game of the series will be played on Friday night. The name of Jeffrey Maier was invoked during Wednesday night’s game. There is no good night of postseason baseball that involves people talking about Maier. This happened last year in Houston too, and here we are again with the grim flip scenario: An umpire, in this case Joe West, called fan interference on a live ball and video replay did not overturn the call and make this play a home run despite multiple angles making clear what had happened. It seems, apparently, that the fact that a security guard was blocking the camera prevented the replay from being viewed from the angle right at the foul pole, and so rather than take the clear evidence presented from the other angles, they chose to throw their hands up. This would have resulted in two runs scoring for the Astros Rougned Odor Jersey , who, incidentally, went on to lose the game by two runs and now trail the Red Sox by a 3-1 margin in the series. It could end tonight. Not surprisingly, all remains quiet on the Orioles front. That’s fair, for now. Whatever process it is that the O’s ownership is going through for the GM hire (or whatever they want to call the new person), we can only hope that it’s thorough. A thorough survey of available candidates, a thorough evaluation of what those candidates have to offer, and finally, which is the best to try to take the team into a better future. If the Orioles think that one of the possible right people to talk to is in one of the front offices of one of the surviving playoff teams, perhaps they feel they need to push back their decision until the postseason is over. That doesn’t seem ideal to me - even if it’s likely going to be a quiet offseason for the O’s, the new person still deserves a full offseason to be able to make decisions. As it is, the fact that the O’s have to hire both a GM plus a manager means that teams who are hiring only a manager are getting first crack at the pool of available managers. I suppose the question is whether this is a case of where the early bird gets the worm or a situation where the second mouse gets the cheese.Around the blogO’sphereThe latest non-update update on Orioles (School of Roch)Roch cautions that not only is it not worth speculating about manager names until a GM is hired, it’s also not worth speculating about GM names until a president of baseball operations is hired. Grab a snack.Craig Counsell pulls Wade Miley after one batter (NBC Sports)I’m including this here because I think that the ghost of Earl Weaver would be proud to see what the Brewers pulled in Game 5 - not that it got them a win. Weaver, you may recall http://www.rangersfanproshop.com/authentic-matt-moore-jersey , used to name Steve Stone as his DH just in case the opposing team’s starting pitcher got yanked before the DH batted, so Weaver would have the guarantee of setting a DH with the platoon advantage - until MLB made a rule to stop him from doing this.Prospect profile: Jean Carlos Encarnacion (Minor League Ball)Our friends over at SB Nation’s Minor League Ball take a look at one of the prospects the Orioles got back in the Kevin Gausman trade.Birthdays and anniversariesThere are a few former Orioles with birthdays today. They are: Prez lookalike Garrett Olson, Darryl Strawberry kicker Alan Mills, 1995 reliever Terry Clark, and 1977 one-gamer Ed Farmer. Is today your birthday? Happy birthday! Your birthday buddies for today include: poet Lady Mary Wroth (1587), FAO Schwarz founder Frederick August Otto Schwarz (1836), longtime Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau (1919), singer-songwriter and guitarist Chuck Berry (1926), martial arts man Jean-Claude Van Damme (1960), trumpeter Wynton Marsalis (1961), gold medal skier Lindsey Vonn (1984), and actor Zac Efron (1987).Also born on this day was Lee Harvey Oswald, with whom you may not wish to share a birthday, but if today is your day Russell Wilson Jersey , you do anyway. Sorry! On this day in history...In 1748, the various powers of Europe signed the Treaty of Aix-la-Chappelle, bringing an end to the War of the Austrian Succession, which confirmed that Maria Theresa was allowed to inherit her father’s titles. Part of the French and Indian Wars in North America were connected to this war.In 1857, Moby-Dick by Herman Melville was first published, although at that time it was known as The Whale. In 1867, following the purchase of the territory from Russia for $7.2 million, the United States formally took control of Alaska. In 1898, the United States took possession of Puerto Rico, which had previously belonged to Spain.**And that’s the way it is in Birdland on October 18 - or at least, unless something happens later, which I suppose it might. Victor Victor Mesa has to sign eventually, right? Have a safe Thursday. If not Martin Perez Jersey , please read on.This series of articles will run from now until shortly before opening day. The purpose is to crowd source the D-Backs fans of this website to get a sense of how they feel about the prospects of each individual player on the 40 man roster. For this exercise I will only be using rate (average) stats and poll the readers on their sense of direction for that player’s level of basic performance, regardless of playing time expectations.I’m not including defense and base running, so no WAR here, as that is playing time dependent. You will be given two poll options:The player will either exceed the projection or under perform the projection by 5% for hitters OPS or 10% for pitchers ERA/FIP.There is no middle option to vote on. (Otherwise the majority of votes would end up agreeing with the projection). What I am looking for is if you are forced to indicate your sense of direction for the player, is it well over or under the projection?Other Points of note:Projections are the average of Steamer and ZIPS projections.(Click through for original tables)The projections draw on 3 or 4 year samples, weighting most recent seasons the heaviest, but I’m just showing 2018 and career statsin mini table below for simplicityThe player’s name is high lighted with a link to the player’s Baseball-Reference page.Click on that to see more player history and detailAge is the 2019 player age.Polls will run until mid March, so if you miss a player, you can go to the story stream box on the front page andfind a player you might have missed .Please let us know in the comments section your thoughts behind your vote. Thanks !CONTEXT JOEY KREHBIEL Age 26Joey Krehbiel is projected to have a 4.28 ERA/4.27 FIP. Is he likely to come in over or under ?
